About The Workshop Mind
The Workshop Mind is for people whose heads are full of ideas, plans and good intentions, and whose to-do lists never seem to get shorter.
The idea behind this site is simple: your brain is a workshop, not a warehouse. It's built for making things: solving problems, creating, connecting ideas. It isn't built for storing every appointment, errand and half-finished thought. When we use it as a warehouse, the workshop gets cluttered and nothing gets built.
What you'll find here
Everything on The Workshop Mind fits into four areas:
- Capture: getting every task, idea and worry out of your head and into a trusted place, on paper or on screen.
- Systems: simple daily and weekly planning methods that still work on a bad week.
- Tools: honest comparisons of apps, planners and notebooks.
- Finishing: focus, time, procrastination and actually completing what you start.
We cover digital and paper methods side by side, because the best system is the one you'll actually use.
Who writes here
The Workshop Mind is written by the author of Your Brain Is a Workshop, Not a Warehouse, a practical planning guide for busy, scattered, creative minds, who has spent years leading and teaching people and helping them turn good intentions into finished work.
How we recommend tools
When we compare apps or products, we say what each one does well, where it falls short, and who it suits. Some links may be affiliate links, which support the site at no extra cost to you. See our affiliate disclosure.
A note on what this site is not
We write about practical planning strategies, not medical treatment. If you think you might have ADHD or another condition, please talk to a qualified health professional. The tools here can sit alongside that support, not replace it.
